Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather Foxborough – Robert J. O’Leary, Sr, age 73, died Friday, November 6 at the Massachusetts General Hospital, surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. Bob was the son of the late Harold and Helen (Remy) O’Leary.
Bob was born on May 17, 1936 in Everett. He was a graduate of Braintree High School, Class of 1954 and Bentley College, Class of 1959. He married his wife Barbara at St. Thomas Church in Jamaica Plain on May 5, 1962. Bob was employed as a Vice President at Bay Bank for over twenty five years. He was also employed at Putnam Investments, retiring in 2003. Bob was a communicant at St. Mary’s Church, Foxborough. He was a coach and referee for CYO basketball and coached and was a past president of Foxborough Little League and Babe Ruth baseball.
Loving husband of Barbara (McKenney) O’Leary. Beloved father of Robert J. O’Leary, Jr. of Westminster, CO, Stephen and his wife Joan of Hopkinton and Kevin and his wife Samantha of Plainview, NY. Devoted grandfather of Carolyn, Carter, Brendan, Logan and Dylan. Brother of Jean Dalton of Braintree and Donald O’Leary of Pembroke.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Monday, November 9 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 10 at 9 am at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter Street, Foxborough with interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
