Albert J. Gentile Jr.

Brockton-Albert Joseph Gentile Jr., age 61, died at his home on April 1, 2009. He was the son of the late Albert J. Gentile, Sr. and Theresa (Marcello) Burnham.

Albert was born in Boston on August 19, 1947. He had been a resident of Avon and Brockton for most of his life and was a graduate of Avon High School, Class of 1965. Albert proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

Albert worked as floor manager at Dick’s Sporting Goods Store in Brockton for the past two years. He was an avid New England sports fan. He was especially a Boston Red Sox fan who also enjoyed attending Pawtucket Red Sox Games. He was an excellent cook and loved preparing meals for friends and family.

Albert is survived by his son, Jason Gentile of Taunton, his daughter, Heidi (Gentile) McCabe of Plymouth and step daughters Megan and Kate Berchtold, both of Taunton, his sister Lisa Picardi of Avon, three brothers; Phillip Gentile of Taunton, Gary Burnham of Boston and Fred Burnham, III of Quincy. Also survived by three grandchildren, Heather, Holly and Ibrahim and his life long friend Michael O’Neil along with his God daughter Kerry O’Neil, both of Stoughton.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Monday, April 6, 2009 from 2-4 PM at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St., in Foxboro center.
