Mr. William S. Ivatts

March 21, 1921 - June 20, 2006

William S. Ivatts, age 85, died Tuesday June 20, at the Caritas Norwood Hospital. He was the son of the late William and Marion (Rogers) Ivatts.

William was born in Norwood on March 21, 1921 and was a 1939 graduate of Norwood High School. He proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Coast Guard.

He worked for many years as an electrician for Bird & Sons of Walpole and retired in 1985 from Factory Mutual in Norwood. William was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed ice fishing on local lakes and ponds. He was also an avid New England Sports fan and was a long time member of the Norwood V.F.W. He was a devoted Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather

Husband of the late Anne Rose “Nancy” (Crowe) Ivatts. Loving father of Sherry A. Lander of Mansfield, William G. and his wife Kathleen of Sharon, Thomas R. of Hailey, Idaho and Robert J. Ivatts and his wife Sandra of Foxboro. Brother of Robert H. Ivatts of Norwood and Frances Buccilli of Norton. Devoted Grandfather of Marcy, Jay, Tommy, Julie, Danny, Shane, Kara, Billy, Casey and Katey. Great-grandfather of DJ, Elizabeth, Olivia, Joshua, Shane, Justin, Mikayla, Colton, Amanda, Evan and Ella.

Funeral Information

Friends an relatives are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Sunday June 25, from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home 30 South St. Foxboro. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday June 26, at 9:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church in Foxboro. Interment to follow with military honors at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Foxboro.
