Crawford D. Calderwood

March 25, 1921 - September 15, 2008

Devoted and Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather

Crawford Douglas “Chick” Calderwood, age 87, died on Monday, September 15, 2008 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. He was the son of the late Sherman H. and Annie E. (Crawford) Calderwood.

Chick was born in Quincy on March 25 1921. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He and his wife Phyllis were married at the United Church of Christ in Walpole on May 31, 1941. He has been a Foxboro resident for over 67 years.

Chick was a retired foreman in the flow valve department at the Foxboro Company and was a member of the Foxboro Company 10 and 25 year Clubs. He was a member and church leader for the Bethany Congregational Church in Foxborough for over 60 years. He was a member of the St. Alban’s Lodge A.F. and A.M. in Foxborough and was also a member of the American Legion Lawrence Foster Post 93 in Foxborough. and the V.F.W. Post in Long Island Maine.

Chick was an avid boater and enjoyed spending time with his family at his vacation home on Long Island Maine. He also enjoyed visiting shut ins for Bethany Congregational Church where he was a former trustee and Mission Outreach member.

Beloved husband of Phyllis E. (Wilber) Calderwood. Loving Father of Jean L. and her husband Charles Healy of Foxborough, James D. and his wife Linda of Berlin, MA, and Diane and her husband Jack Mulvee, Frank E. and his wife Daniela and Linda M. and her husband Paul Marszalkowski all of Foxborough. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, September 17, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home 30 South St. in Foxborough. A Masonic funeral service will be held at 7:45 during the evening calling hours. A Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at the Bethany Congregational Church, 3 Rock Hill St. in Foxborough.
