Florence Westover Tingley

Florence Westover Tingley, age 86, a longtime resident of Sharon, died on April 3, 2007 at the Pond Home in Wrentham surrounded by the comfort of her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Oliver and Antoinette (Vanderbaken) Westover.

Florence was born in Beaverdale, Pennsylvania on May 5, 1920 and was a graduate of Beaverdale Public Schools. She proudly served her country in the Army Nurse Corps during WWII. She and her late husband Lawrence H. Tingley where married in Biloxi Mississippi on August 26, 1944.

She was a graduate of The Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital Nursing School in Johnston, PA and was a Nurse in the Sharon Public Schools for 20 years retiring in 1972. She was member of the Dorcus Society at the First Congregational Church of Sharon.

Beloved wife of the late Lawrence H. Tingley, Loving mother of Lawrence H. Tingley Jr. and his wife Charlene of Easton and Antoinette Tingley Schleyer and her husband Jack of Foxboro. Devoted Grandmother of Maureen Holm of Portland, OR and Rebecca Guertin and Kathryn Tingley both of Mansfield. Sister of Olivia James, Phyllis Tingley, Anita Bakall, Madeline Makoski and the late Bertha Westover, Elaine Simmons, Jayne Shaulis, Norma Fern, Mary Jo Stoker and Oliver Jay Westover III.

Funeral Information

Friends and relatives are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Friday April 6, form 4 – 7 PM at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro. A funeral service will be held on Saturday April 7, at 11 AM at the First Congregational Church of Sharon.
