George V. Silva

May 28, 1915 - June 26, 2008

Loving Father and Grandfather

Plainville-George Victor Silva, age 93, died on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Gertrude (Kimball), Geraldine (Harnish) and Ramona Silva.

George was born in Taunton on May 28, 1915 and was the son of the late Antonio and Rose (Victoria) Silva. George proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII.

George worked for Simplex Wire and Cable Company in Cambridge and retired in 1983 from Polaroid in Cambridge. He was a member of the Sharon American Legion and the North Attleboro V.F.W. George enjoyed deer hunting, deep sea fishing and taking trips with his family to Las Vegas.

Beloved father of Margaret Schofield of Plainville and Edward Harnish and his wife Elizabeth of Billerica and the late Barbara MacRae. Also survived by five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St. in Foxborough. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter St., Foxborough. Interment to follow with U.S. Army Honors at Calvary Cemetery in Woburn.
