Kenneth M. Gay Jr.

August 19, 1948 - June 22, 2007

Kenneth M. Gay Jr. Age 58 of Mansfield, died unexpectedly at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro on Friday June 22, 2007. He was the son of Kenneth M. Sr. and Anna Mae (Durling) Gay of Foxborough.

Kenny was born in Brockton on August 19, 1948. He grew up in Brockton and graduated from Foxborough High School in the class of 1967. After working in the family appliance business in Foxborough and several other H.V.A.C. companies he formed Ken’s Service Company of Mansfield. He served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam and rose to the rank of Sergeant as a Ranger with the Air Born Division. Ken was a member of the East Foxboro V.F.W. and the Sharon American Legion. Ken also taught for several years at N.E. Industrial Technical School of Boston. Kenny was a member of the Mansfield Fish and Game Club and the New England Woodcarvers Inc. for many years. He also belonged to the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society since 1992.
He also was a member of Mansfield Municipal Building Committee, Chairperson of the Mansfield Capital Improvement Committee

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife Patricia A. (McNamara), his daughters Tracy C. Gay of Mashpee and Doreen A. Murphy of Orlando, FL and his sons Shawn R. Gay and Matthew K. Gay, both of Mansfield. He is the brother of Michael S. Gay of Douglas, Daniel A. Gay of Stoughton and Dianne E. Giordano of Getzville, NY. Ken is also survived by four grandchildren and a great granddaughter.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday June 26 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home 30 South St., Foxborough. Funeral Service on Wednesday June 27 at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church of Foxboro at Mechanic and Chestnut Streets. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery in Bourne.
