Charles William Maria

February 14, 1928 - December 15, 2005

Charles William Maria, age 77 died on December 15, 2005 at Brigham and Womans Medical Center in Boston surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. He was the son of the late Salvatore and Jenny (Toto) Maria.

Born in Boston on February 2, 1928, Charles was a life long resident of Sharon. Charles proudly served his country in the United State Army during World War II and married his wife Helen H. (Henry) at Saint Catherine of Siena Church in Norwood on September 3, 1949.

Charles worked for 49 years in the Boston Carmen’s Union for AMTRAK of Boston until his retirement in 1990. He was a Member of the Foxboro Knights of Columbus and the Transportation Workers Union. He was also a member of the N.A.R.V.E. and was a volunteer at the Foxboro K of C Farm Stand.

Devoted husband of 56 years of Helen H. (Henry) Maria. Loving father of Robert C. Maria of Sharon and Donna L. Maria of South Attleboro. Brother of Eleanor Graves of Walpole, Francis Piekarski of Osterville, and the late Terry DelGrosso. Devoted grandfather of Jessica D. and Joseph C. Maria of California and Jeremy J. and Dawnelle M. Hayden of South Attleboro.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hrs on Friday Dec. 16, from 4-8 pm at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home 30 South Street Foxboro. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:30 pm at the Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 59 Cottage Street in Sharon. Interment to follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
