Richard Arthur Warn Sr.

March 13, 1921 - February 10, 2006

Richard Arthur Warn Sr. of Foxborough formerly of Pembroke. Died Friday February 10, 2006 He was the son of the late Harold and Dorothy (Swan) Warn.

Richard was born in Boston on March 13, 1921 He graduated from Boston Mechanic Arts high School He then graduated from Wentworth Institute in Boston with the class of 1942. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in WWII and was assigned to the 367th Air Service Group. He was later discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He worked as a mailer at the Boston Globe retiring in 1998. He also had worked with the Boston Herald. He was the owner of Richard Warn Real Estate in Weymouth for many years. He was a member of the Rotary Club and a member of the Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Quincy. He was an amateur cartoonist. He loved music and played the violin as well as many other instruments.

He and Charlotte L. (Bragg) were married at the Lutheran Church of Boston on November 11th 1948. He was the loving father of Virginia L. Warn of Wellesley, Richard A. Warn Jr. of Portland, ME, Carol J. Pouliot of Newburyport and Janice L. Shaughnessy of Mont Vernon, NH. Brother of Corey K. Warn of Boston. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

Funeral Information

Funeral service on Tuesday February 14, at 11 AM at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church 116 South St. Foxborough. A graveside service with U.S. Air Force honors will be at 2 PM at the National Cemetery in Bourne. Calling Hrs. Monday from 4 to 8 PM at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home 30 South St. Foxboro.
