Robert R. Aucoin, Sr.

July 12, 1932 - May 11, 2008

Foxboro – Robert R. Aucoin, Sr., age 75, died Sunday, May 11 at his home surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. He was the son of the late Delphin and Elizabeth Aucoin.

Bob was born on July 12, 1932 in Waltham. He was a graduate of Waltham High School, Class of 1950. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He and his wife Joan were married at St. Agnes Church in Arlington on October 29, 1955.

Bob worked for American Can Company in Needham for twenty two years as a mechanic. He retired in July, 1997 as a shipper for Texas Instruments of Attleboro. He was a member of the Foxboro VFW and was a former little league, hockey and Pop Warner football coach in Foxboro. He was an avid bowler and loved to work on cars.

Beloved husband of Joan M. (Hanrahan) Aucoin. Loving father of Robert R. Aucoin, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth and Michele and her husband Robert Cutler all of Foxboro, Jack Aucoin and his wife Linda of S. Attleboro, Michael Aucoin and his wife Joan of Plainville and Suzanne and her husband Michael Reardon of Attleboro. Brother of William Aucoin of Waltham, Edward Aucoin of FL, Mary Forman of CA and the late Ralph Aucoin. He was the adoring grandfather of Christopher Cutler, Emily Aucoin, Jenna Cutler, Steven Aucoin, Jake Aucoin, Michael Reardon, Matthew Aucoin, Kristen Aucoin, Shawn Reardon, Patrick Aucoin and Brandon Aucoin.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, May 14 from 4 to 8 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 15 at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter Street, Foxboro. Interment to follow Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton with US Air Force Honors.
