David Melvin Smith, age 66, died suddenly at his home in Boston on Saturday, November 18, 2006. He was the son of the late Raymond and Stella (Hinton) Smith. David was born on April 15, 1940 in Boston, MA and was a long time resident of Foxboro. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. David was a former steam engineer for General Electric in Boston. He was a political advocate for Veteran Affairs on Beacon Hill. He was a member of the Dowsers Association and was deeply interested in holistic medicine. Beloved father of David M. Smith, Jr. and Roger Smith, both of Somerville. Loving brother of Margaret Sullivan of Norton and her husband, the late James Sullivan, Raymond and his wife Phyllis of FL, Elizabeth and her husband Hank Travers of Foxboro, Douglas and his wife Margaret Smith of Plainville and the late Robert, James and Patrick Smith.
