Nina Jacqueline Cartier

October 30, 1931 - November 25, 2005

Nina “Jackie” Jacqueline (Small) Cartier, age74, died at her home on Friday, November 25, after a long illness, surrounded by the comfort of her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Irene Small.

Jackie was born in Norwood, MA on October 30, 1931. She married her husband Rene on February 3, 1951 at St. Mary’s Church in Wrentham. Jackie worked for many years as a secretary at the Foxboro Company and retired in 1995. She also worked at the former Hales Diner of Foxboro and the former Fernandes Supermarket in Foxboro. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Easter Chapter in Foxboro. She also was a Girl Scout leader, a 4-H leader and a Boy Scout leader. She was also an active community volunteer including Foxboro Caritas Health Center, Foxboro Senior Center and the Foxboro Discretionary Fund. Jackie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Devoted wife of Rene Cartier. Loving mother of Rene Cartier, Jr. and his wife Cathy of Herkimer, NY, Denise Curtin and her husband Bill of Brockton and Sharon DeMartino of Foxboro. Adoring grandmother of Jay, Eric, Danielle, Christopher, Beau, William III, Michael and Brad. Sister of Richard Small, Jeanette and her husband John McNamara all of Foxboro and Ethel Collins of Mansfield.

Funeral Information

Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours Monday, November 28 from 4 to 8 pm at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 29 at 11 am at the Union Church of South Foxboro, 384 South Street.
