Edith V. "Abrahamson" Johnson

Edith Victoria (Hanson) Johnson, age 80, Died on May 1, 2008, at her home in Wrentham surrounded by the comfort of her loving family and close friends. She was the wife of J. Edmund Johnson, daughter of the late Lars P. and Hanna V. (Haglund) Hanson, sister of Lennart Hanson of Atlanta, GA and wife of the late Harold F. Abrahamson.

Edith was born in Dorchester on May 17, 1927 and was a 1945 graduate of Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Dorchester. Before moving to Wrentham, Edith was a longtime resident of Foxborough. She worked as a waitress and bartender for the King Phillip Ball Room, Twin Lanterns Restaurant and the Red Fox Restaurant. In later years she worked for the Wrentham District Courts and for Analog Devices in Westwood. She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the former Easter Chapter O.E.S. in Foxborough and was a former Grand Representative of the State of Mississippi for the O.E.S. She was also a member of the Runeberg Lodge 211 in Norwood.

On April 12, 1986, she and her husband Edmund Johnson were married at the United Church in Walpole. She was the loving mother of Fred and Lars Abrahamson both of Raynham, Carol Marsocci of North Kingstown, RI and Carl Abrahamson of Dedham. Loving step-mother to Ken Johnson of Morgan Hill, CA, Kristin Stashenko of Medfield, MA, Dianne Allen of Columbus, OH, Gary Johnson of McKinney, TX, Susan O’Neil of Souderton, PA and Betsy Williamson of Franklin, MA. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren who were her pride and joy.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, May 4, from 2-6 PM at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home 30 South St. Foxborough. Eastern Star services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 AM at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church 116 South St. in Foxborough.
