John W. "Jack" Jowett

May 26, 1924 - January 22, 2004

Devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather

John William ‘Jack” Jowett, age 79, died on January 22, 2004 at the Venice Hospital in Venice Florida. He was the Son of the late Walter and Flora Mae (Silva) Jowett.

Jack was born in Methuen on May 26, 1924 and attended Methuen Public Schools. Jack proudly served his country with the 9th Army Air Corps in England during WWII. He was a resident of Cotuit, Nokomis Florida and was a long time resident of Foxboro.

Jack was a retired postal worker in Foxboro and was a member of the Foxboro Call Fire Department for over 24 years. He was a member of the B.O. of Elks in Florida, the Foxboro V.F.W. and the American Legion Post 93 in Foxboro. Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Beloved husband of Gayle (Morrison) and the late Jean (Jowett). Loving father of Lynda Chase, Jody Cooke, Marcy O’Neil and Cyndy Livesey, Susan Garvey, Joe Garvey, and Patrick Garvey. Brother of the late Mary Parker. Also survived by eight grand and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral Information

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at 11 AM at St. Marks Episcopal Church in Foxboro. Interment services with Military Honors followed at the National Cemetery in Bourne.
