Gilbert W. Taylor

May 20, 1938 - September 17, 2006

Born in Brockton on May 20, 1938, he was the son of the late Catherine (Ferguson) Winslow and Sidney Taylor. He was a former long time resident of Foxboro. Gil proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Navy.

Gil And Rose where married on April 1, 1961 in Hudson New Hampshire. He was a retired public building Forman for the town of Mansfield. He was the past Commander of the Mansfield VFW Post 3264 from 1983 to 1984.

Most important to Gilbert was the time he spent with his family. He loved Carpentry and teaching his sons his trade. He loved to hunt and fish and was a member of the Mansfield Fish and Game. He was an avid gardener and cribbage player. He loved his dogs Bear and Sandy.

Any on who knew Gil knew his great sense of humor and how he loved to tell a good joke or story.

Beloved husband of Rose Marie (DeMayo) Taylor. Loving Father of William V. and his wife Kathleen of Attleboro, Stephen D. and his wife Faith of Lakeville, Brian R. and his wife Lisa of Seekonk and the late Gilbert W. Taylor Jr. Devoted grandfather of Katie, Shyla, Ashley, Kamryn, Julia, Joshua and Rachel. Brother of the late Blanche Davis.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, September 20, from 5 to 8 PM at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home 30 South Street, Foxboro. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Foxboro.
