Mrs. Louise M. Hughes

Loving Wife, Aunt and Cherished Friend

Boston-Louise Mary (Castonguay) Hughes, age 88 of West Roxbury, died at the Deutsches Altenheim Center in West Roxbury on Sunday July 26, 2009 surrounded by the comfort of her loving family.She was the wife of the late Edward J. Hughes and was the daughter of the late Noel and Emily (Hesse) Castonguay.

Louise was born in Boston on June 3, 1921 and was educated in the Boston Public School system. She graduated from the Dorchester High School for Girls in 1939. Louise and her late husband were married in 1944 and resided in the same house for 61 years. For a short time Louise worked as a clerk at Woolworth’s in Dedham. Louise was a kind and gentle soul who loved, and was loved by everybody she met. She was always a lady. She loved Bingo, knitting, crocheting, cooking, shopping and gardening. Louise cherished her time spent with her family and friends.

Louise was the sister of Noel Castonguay of Randolph and the late Paul Castonguay. She is survived by her nieces Sandra Lussier of Whitman and Nancy Marston of Abington, as well as her niece and caregiver Mary Florek of Walpole.
She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

A memorial service will be held in the auditorium of the Deutsches Altenheim Center, 2222 Centre St. in West Roxbury on Tuesday August 4 at 2:00 P.M.
