Constantine PenkosApril 30, 1917 - April 10, 2006
Constantine Penkos, age 88, died on Monday April 10, 2006, at the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood. He was the son of the late Constantine and Mary (Darmofal) Penkos. Mr. Penkos was born on April 30, 1917 in Bridgeport, CT and was a graduate of John Adams High School in New York city. He has been a resident of Foxboro since 1952. Mr. Penkos proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army Transportation Corps and also served in the U. S. Coast Guard. He worked for the Foxboro Company as a writer for the corporate communications department. He retired from the Foxboro Company after 30 years of service in 1982. Mr. Penkos was a founder and charter member of the Friends of the Boyden Library in Foxboro. He was a member of the U.S. Navy League New Port Chapter and was a member of the Foxboro Company 10 and 25 year clubs. Beloved husband of the late Ruth (Cumbie) Penkos. Brother of the late Eugene and Stanley Penkos and Irene Rose. Funeral InformationRelatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, April 12, from 4-8:00 PM at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home 30 South Street Foxboro. A funeral procession will begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday April 13,at the funeral home for an interment service with U.S. Army honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 11:15 AM. .
