Laurence E. Brown

December 17, 1923 - July 03, 2009

Retired Machinist

Foxborough-Laurence Everett Brown, age 85, died Friday, July 3, 2009 at the West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton. He was the son of the late William and Eva (Francis) Brown.

Laurence was born in Foxborough on December 17, 1923 and was educated in Foxborough Public Schools. He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII. He married his wife Betty on April 26, 1947 in Foxborough. Laurence operated a bicycle repair shop from his home in Foxborough for many years. He has been a Stoughton resident for the past three years and was a former life long Foxborough resident.

Laurence was a machinist for Bird Machine of Walpole for over thirty five years. He retired in December, 1985. He was an avid fresh water fisherman and loved to spend time along the shores of the Cape Cod Canal.

Beloved husband of the late Marion E. “Betty” (Post) Brown. Loving father of Carolyn Texiera of FL, Beverley Schnitzlein of Fall River, Barbara Courtwright of VA and Karen Segill of MA. Good friend of Virginia Rowley of Stoughton. Also survived by eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral Information

A graveside service with US Army Honors will be held on Friday, July 10 at 1 PM at Rock Hill Cemetery in Foxboro. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, Foxborough. For additional information please contact 508 543-5471.
