Beloved Mother and Grandmother Foxborough-Mary Helen “Marie” (Flynn) Dayer, age 86, died on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare of Norton. She was the wife of the late Lawrence E. Dayer and daughter of the late Francis and Margaret Mary (Mahoney) Flynn.
Marie was born on March 26, 1923 in Cambridge and was a 1940 graduate of Cambridge High and Latin School. She was also a graduate of Catherine Gibbs School of Boston. Marie proudly served her country as a Navy Wave during WWII.
Marie married her husband Lawrence E. Dayer in Cambridge on May 5, 1946. She lived for several years in Buffalo and has been a Foxborough resident since 1981. She enjoyed needlework and playing bridge. She most enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and was known for her wonderful sense of humor.
Beloved mother of Peggy Lance of South Easton, Phyllis Perkins of Naperville, IL and Nancy and her husband Michael Lyzun of Indianapolis, IN. Adoring grandmother of Nicholas Lance, Jennifer Lance and Chloe Lyzun. Loving sister of Frances Arntz of Huntington Beach, CA, formerly of Sharon.
