Beatrice Smith
October 22, 1911 - February 28, 2006
Retired Educator from the Foxborough School System Beatrice (Cruickshank) Smith, age 94, died Tuesday February 28, surrounded by the comfort of her loving friends at the Doolittle Home in Foxboro. She was the daughter of the late William S. and Bessie H. (Keyes) Cruickshank.
Beatrice was born in the Edgewood section of Cranston, RI on October 22, 1911. She lived most of her life in Foxborough where she graduated from High School the Class of 1929. Beatrice was a graduate of Leslie College of Cambridge and received her B. S. in Education at Boston University in 1957.
Beatrice joined the Foxborough School System as a teacher in 1931 and completed the last eight years of her career as Reading Coordinator. Mrs. Smith retired in 1974.
She was a life long member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Foxborough. She was at one time active with the Each One Teach One Program in Foxborough and was a member of the Retired Teachers of Massachusetts Association and the retired Municipal and State Employee Association.
Beatrice was wife of the late Adelbert “Pat” Smith.
Funeral Information
A memorial service will be held on Thursday March 9, at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home 30 South Street Foxborough. Interment to follow at Rock Hill Cemetery in Foxborough.
