Gretchen Tripp

February 12, 1930 - September 23, 2009

Devoted Mother and Grandmother

Foxborough – Gretchen (O’Donnell) Tripp, age 79, died on September 23, 2009 at the Tufts Medical Center in Boston surrounded by the comfort of her loving family. She was the daughter of the late James and Gertrude (Noack) O’Donnell.
Gretchen was born in Norwood on February 12, 1930 and was a graduate of Walpole High School. She was a long time Foxborough resident. Gretchen worked for many years as an electronics technician for Codex of Mansfield.
She was a long time volunteer for Foxborough Cable 8 and Meals on Wheels in Foxborough. She was a former 4H Leader in Foxborough and Board Member of the Norfolk Agricultural School Fair Walpole. Gretchen was an avid fan of the former Boston Braves and a current fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and cherished babysitting her grandchildren.
Wife of the late Everett R. Tripp Jr. Beloved mother of Everett Tripp III of Foxborough, Samuel Tripp and his wife Carole of Foxborough, Wendy and her husband Michael Haney of Foxborough, Heidi and her husband Michael Mackey of Seekonk and Hugh Tripp and his wife Carolyn of Mansfield. Sister of the late James O’Donnell . Survived by twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, September 27 from 4 to 8 pm at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, September 28 at the Union Church of South Foxborough, 384 South Street, Foxborough. Interment services will be private.
