Vera Frances MacDougal

May 30, 1933 - December 15, 2007

Native of New Waterford, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia

Foxborough-Vera Frances (Dupe) MacDougall, age 74, died on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Vera was the daughter of the late James and Helen (Power) Dupe.

Vera was born on May 30, 1933 in New Waterford, Nova Scotia, Canada and was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School in New Waterford. She and her husband John MacDougall were married on February 11, 1956 at the Mount Carmel Church in New Waterford. They have been Foxborough Residents for the past 25 years.

Vera was a calibrator for the Foxboro Company for 22 years. She was a volunteer for the Foxborough Meals on Wheels and a member of the Foxboro Company 10 year Club. She was a frequent bingo player at St. Catherine’s Church in Norwood and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Vera loved to take many tips with her husband back to Nova Scotia to visit with family and friends.

Besides her husband, Vera is survived by one Daughter; Sharon and her husband Kenneth Baldwin of New Waterford; four grandchildren; John, Jason, Kyle and Kristin and Great Grandmother of Drew, two sisters; Anna Dupe and Marggie Digobbi and three brothers; Ronnie, Albert and Dougie all of New Waterford. She was the mother of the late Daniel Lorne and Jimmy MacDougall and sister of the late Murgie and Joseph Dupe.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a funeral mass on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 9 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 53 Carpenter St., Foxborough. Arrangements are under the care of the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St. in Foxborough.
