Jerome S. "Jerry" Pepi
August 27, 1939 - April 12, 2010
Vice President of Research and Development at Tyco Corp. in Providence Foxborough – Jerome “Jerry. Pepi age 70, died unexpectedly on Monday April 12, 2010. He was the son of the late John and Sigrid (Majuri) Pepi, and beloved husband to Ellen C. (Smith) Pepi.
Jerry received his BSME degree from Northeastern University in 1962 on scholarships from ROTC, in which he attained the position of Brigadier-General. He received his MSME degree from M.I.T. in 1965. Following 12 years in the aerospace industry he joined Grinnell Fire Protection Services, which became a division of Tyco Corporation in Providence, RI. He became Vice President of Research and Development. He co-authored a variety of US patents for his inventions in the field of fire protection. He was a member of the National Fire Sprinkler Association. This association chose to recognize Jerome with a Technical Service Award in 2010. Jerry was an avid lover of photography, travel, food, family genealogy research, and hiking in the woods and mountains, always with the companionship of his dogs. He and his wife Ellen would have been married for 48 years this June 9th.
Besides his wife Ellen he is survived by his daughter Lorelei M. Pepi and her spouse Ann M. Torke of Providence, his son Craig S. Pepi and his spouse Deborah (Morse) of North Port FL, his granddaughter Amanda L. Pepi of North Port, FL. He is also survived by his sisters Linda and her husband George Petersen , Sandra and her husband Carmine (“Chuck”) Antonellis and his brother Jeffrey and his wife Mary-Ann Pepi.
