Lillian I. Johnson

November 15, 1917 - April 06, 2009

Beloved Mother and Grandmother

Foxboro-Lillian Irene (MacLean) Johnson, age 91, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2009 at Caritas Norwood Hospital surrounded by the comfort of her loving family. She was the wife of the late Arthur A. Johnson.

Lillian was born in Ipswich on November 15, 1917 and was the daughter of the late Angus and Jessie (McPhail) MacLean. She was educated in Ipswich Public Schools and was a graduate of The Chandler School in Boston. She has been a Foxboro resident for the past 27 years and was formerly of Needham and Ipswich.

She worked for Roche Brothers in Needham, and formerly she and her husband owned a drug store for many years on Pilgrim Road in Boston.

Lillian was a people person and was loved by everyone who knew her. She had several hobbies including knitting, sewing, cooking and loved jazz music. She enjoyed following college sports and all Boston sport teams, especially the New Patriots. She also enjoyed visits to her home at Sebago Lake in Maine. Lillian was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Beloved mother of Donna and her husband Bill Fitzgerald of Foxboro and the late Jane Rayner and the late Linda Liddick. Mother in-law of Robert Rayner and the late Richard Liddick. Sister of the late Margaret Higgins. Devoted Grandmother of Robert, Thomas and David Rayner, James Liddick, Deborah Caso, William Fitzgerald and Linda Phelps. Great Grandmother of Sarah, Billy, Jessica, Gracie and Katie. Aunt to several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, April 9, from 4-8 PM at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St. in Foxboro. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 AM at the Funeral Home. For additional information please contact 508-543-5471.
