Retired Pipe Fitter Local 537 Allston James P. Haggerty, Sr.
Foxboro – James Philip Haggerty, Sr., age 73, died Wednesday, July 2, at the Brockton VA Hospital. He was the son of the late William and Charlotte (Hanson) Haggerty.
Jim was born on March 20, 1935 in Boston. Jim was a graduate and teacher at the Wentworth Institute of Boston. Jim proudly served in the US Navy. He married his wife Arlene (Dolan) on July 12, 1958 in Dorchester.
Jim was a retired pipe fitter for Boston Local 537 in Alston. He retired in 1990 as shop foreman and a Union Steward. Jim was a member of Sharon American Legion Wilbur Post 106. He loved a good poker game and enjoyed trips to Foxwoods. Spending time with his grandchildren was a huge part of his life.
Loving father of William A. and his wife Kimberly of RI, Robert and his wife Vicki of WA, Kathleen and her husband David of North Attleboro, Michael and his wife Cassie of Mansfield and the late James P. Haggerty, Jr. Devoted brother of Catherine McFayden of Wilmington and brother in law of Arthur Dolan of Weymouth. Also survived by eleven grandchildren and one great grandson.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Monday, July 7 from 4 to 7 pm at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 8 at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Rock Hill Cemetery, Foxboro. For additional information please contact 508 543-5471.
